This is my second failed attempt at winning an animation contest. This one was sponsored by William Shatner and his social networking website My Outer Space. It's basically facebook for trekkies. The winner got a whole bunch of good stuff, but I was just aiming for a spot as one of the top ten finalists so I could win the Toon Boom software.
Basically I was just hoping that no one good would enter the contest and I would have a fighting chance. But most of the entries are pretty solid and mine is something less than that.
So here it is...
And if you feel so inclined, here is the youtube link.
You may notice that the mouth doesn't match up with the voice as it progresses. I don't know why that happened.

tsokay Tom, we think you are awesome still. Pretty neat animation, though.
I actually like it. I did the "Shat-tastic Short" one. Yours is pretty cute, decent form, good concept. Not sure about the mouth problems, looks like some clean up on the lines would have helped a bit, but I imagine the big reason for it not making the finals might have been its a frog, right? Not really a shatner caraciture... Don't fret it, man. Keep plugging away. I spent days and nights and days and nights on this one. And I'm coming from a flash background, so the toonboom software, especially the pro version had a pretty steep learning curve for me. I can see real quick some of the hiccups you hit along the way, cause i hit the same ones. I do like the frog golfing on floating islands of terrain, hehe. And the car hovering :) Pretty cool, guy :)
